Who had the best record-breaking performance in Pennsylvania? We took your nominations over the past week and here are the finalists:

Nick Lachut and David Johnston – Baldwin High School – Pole Vault


This year marked the first time Baldwin pole vault placed 1st and 2nd in the WPIAL since 1992. One of the competitors who placed 1st on that 1992 team coached the student athletes who placed 1st and 2nd this year. Get more on the win at TribLive.com.

Selena Canello, Tara Gologram, Marin Williams, Isabella Bogdan – Keystone Oaks – 4 x 400M Relay


At the WPIAL Track and Field Championships at Baldwin, the Keystone Oaks Girls 4 X 400 M relay team finished in 5th place, setting a new school record with a time of    4:14.15.

Maria Santilli – Norwin High School – Tennis


Norwin’s Maria Santilli didn’t drop a single set in the PIAA singles finals at Hershey Racquet Club to win the Class 3A championship and bring Norwin its first tennis title in school history. Brian VanDusen – Ringgold High School – Long Jump


Ringgold’s Brian VanDusen shattered a 31 year old long jump school record en route to winning the prestigious Baldwin Invitational. His leap of 23′ 3″ broke the old mark of 22′ 9″ by Pierre Roddy in 1986 by half a foot. Vandusen’s jump also makes him the current PIAA state leader in that event according penntrack.com.
